Protocol Education are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Middlesbrough for a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join their team from September 2026.

The Role
As Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance across the school by:
* Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality.
* Investigating and following up on absences.
* Working closely with students, parents/carers and external agencies.
* Producing attendance reports and analysing attendance data.
* Supporting attendance improvement strategies and interventions.
* Maintaining accurate pupil records in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
* Liaising with pastoral staff and senior leaders to identify and support students at risk of persistent absence.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience in an attendance, administration, pastoral or safeguarding role within education.
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is confident using school management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Can work independently and manage a varied workload.
* Has strong attention to detail and a professional approach.
* Is committed to supporting positive outcomes for young people.
