Teaching Assistant
Milk Education are seeking caring, proactive and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support a range of Primary Schools across Durham. We are looking for individuals who can help create a positive learning environment, support pupils with their development, and work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality classroom support.
You will be joining welcoming and inclusive schools with strong community values. This role is suitable for both experienced Teaching Assistants and those with relevant experience working with children.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Supporting pupils throughout the school day, both 1:1 and in small groups
2. Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
3. Helping to manage classroom behaviour in a positive and consistent way
4. Providing additional support to pupils with SEND where required
5. Promoting a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment
6. Communicating effectively with staff and pupils
Essential Requirements:
7. Recent experience working with children (school, nursery, tutoring, youth work or similar)
8. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
9. Good understanding of safeguarding
10. Confident supporting learning within a classroom environment
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills
