Based in STV’s Pacific Quay office in Glasgow, the Consumer Insights team provide audience insights for teams across the company, including Commercial, News, Marketing, STV Player, PR, and STV Studios. As well as analysing viewing trends and programme performance, the team work closely with ScotPulse – Scotland’s largest consumer panel – to create online surveys that gain a deeper understanding of what consumers think.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insights professional to lead the Insights team and take an active role in turning audience and viewing data into compelling insights to support decision making.
Work closely with a wide range of internal teams including marketing, commercial, editorial and digital to provide monthly and ad hoc reports.
•Interrogation and collation of research information from third party databases and presentation of this information in a fresh and engaging way.
•Responsible for the personal development and performance of the Insights team members through direct line management.
•Ensure reports, ranging from top performing programme reports to the evaluation of advertising campaigns, are delivered on time and to a high standard using bespoke media systems.
•Conduct quantitative research projects including selecting sampling, questionnaire design, interpretation and data analysis of quantitative results, assisting in the writing and delivering of presentations.
•A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Insights Manager, Senior Insights Executive or related role, ideally gained in a media environment, skilled and experienced in research and data analysis is essential.
•Demonstrable depth of understanding and interpretation of BARB data.
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to interrogate large volumes of complex data and form valuable insights.
•Experience in the design and delivery of visually appealing presentations, presenting large volumes of data in clear and understandable formats.
•Demonstrable experience in market research, coupled with a good working knowledge of quantitative research methodologies.
•Experience of designing questionnaires (preferably including web-based surveys) and managing quantitative research projects from briefing stage to end results.
•Proven experience of managing teams and being a mentor who encourages development.
•assertiveness and confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders across the business.
•Advanced knowledge and applications PowerPoint and MS Excel, including pivot tables and formula, is essential.
