Senior Design Engineer – Multi-Technology Energy Solutions
We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team, focused on delivering integrated, multi-technology energy solutions for industrial and commercial clients.
In this role, you’ll design and develop robust and commercially viable systems combining technologies such as solar PV, CHP, battery storage, heat pumps, and grid services. You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping customer-centric solutions that cut costs, support decarbonisation, and improve energy resilience.
What you’ll do:
* Design and develop integrated energy systems across solar PV, CHP, battery storage, heat pumps, and grid services
* Analyse client energy needs, performing technical and financial assessments to highlight efficiency, decarbonisation, and resilience opportunities
* Work closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and commercially viable
* Prepare technical specifications, concept designs, and feasibility studies using tools such as PVSOL, Helioscope, and AutoCAD
* Translate technical solutions into clear, compelling proposals for clients and stakeholders
* Stay ahead of emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory developments
What we’re looking for:
* 5+ years’ experience in energy engineering, project development, or technical sales, ideally with exposure to multi-technology projects
* Proven experience designing and delivering complex energy projects in the I&C or public sectors
* Strong commercial acumen, with knowledge of PPAs, CPPAs, and funded solution models
* Technical proficiency with simulation and design tools (PVSol, Helioscope, CAD)
* Strong collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working with cross-functional teams and presenting to senior stakeholders
* Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or Environmental Engineering (Chartered Engineer status preferred)
This is a great opportunity for an engineer passionate about low-carbon, integrated energy solutions to make a real impact in shaping the energy transition.
