We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil returning to school following an off‑site direction. This role is based within a supportive school in the Birmingham area and is a full‑time, long‑term position starting ASAP. If the placement is successful, the school anticipates the need for support until 21/06. Key Details: Location: Birmingham Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full‑time, long‑term Working Hours: Monday to Friday Potential End Date: 21/06 (subject to successful placement) The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience supporting children or young people in a school or pastoral/SEND capacity (essential) Experience delivering 1:1 support, particularly around behaviour, emotional regulation or reintegration A calm, confident and supportive approach Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to establish trust quickly Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude The ability to remain consistent, patient and resilient A nurturing but firm approach to routines, boundaries and expectations An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil reintegrating into the school following off‑site direction Support the pupil with transitions, routines, engagement and emotional wellbeing Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, structured and calm environment Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, SENCO and class teachers Adapt strategies to meet the pupil's needs and ensure a smooth return to learning Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant staff Promote independence, confidence and positive social interactions This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a pupil during a pivotal transition back into school.
