We have an exciting opportunity to join the Warehouse team at the main Culpitt site. This role is essential to service our existing customers as well as support with the significant increase we have seen in our Amazon orders.
Reporting into the Warehouse Team Leader, the Warehouse Operative will support with the full range of warehouse duties.
Culpitt has been supplying cake decorations and associated products for over 100 years. We are based in Ashington and are the UK's leading wholesaler of sugar crafting equipment and edibles.
Skills, knowledge & experience:
We are looking for someone who has previous warehouse experience. You will have a flexible approach to work and will need to cover any area in the Warehouse when needed. You will suggest improvements and challenge existing practices in a positive way. You will be an effective communicator and comfortable liaising with your colleagues and Team Leaders.
The role of Warehouse Operative has responsibility for:
· Work from picking lists, to fulfil, pack and despatch customer orders
· Process orders, ensuring that all customer specific instructions are followed correctly
· Ensure that all customer orders are fulfilled within the specific time frames
· Replenish pick face stock where required to allow the timely picking of orders
· Ensure that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
· Take responsibility for the Company's freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work
· Sort and rotate stock according to the Company's procedures
· Report any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse management
· Keep the Warehouse environment clean and tidy and safe to work in
· Follow and adhere to workplace health and safety rules and procedures at all times
· Ensure efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
· Assist with Warehouse inventory controls by using the hand-held scanner
· Treat all Company goods and equipment with care and concern at all times
· Familiarise and adhere to all Company policies and standards
· Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and recorded where required
· Use all personal protective equipment issued where appropriate
· Proactively report any issues to the Team Leader/Manager
· Contribute actively to achieving departmental service level targets
Additional duties/comments:
· To provide cover in any other area where required
· To promptly follow instructions from the Team Leader
· To challenge existing practises and suggest improvements wherever possible
· To ensure Daily Pre-Operation FLT Check is completed prior to use of the FLTs
Salary: £12.32 per hour
