Duties as Engineering Teacher (Head of Department): Lead and manage the Engineering department across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Teach Engineering full time, delivering high‑quality lessons across all key stages Develop, implement, and review the Engineering curriculum and schemes of work Oversee assessment, progress tracking, and standards within the department Support and mentor staff within the department to maintain high‑quality teaching Ensure safe and effective use of workshops, equipment, and resources Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement Contribute to whole‑school leadership and improvement priorities Work collaboratively with senior leaders to develop Engineering provision Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare Ideal Engineering Teacher (Head of Department): Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification Strong experience teaching Engineering across KS3 to KS5 Previous leadership or departmental responsibility experience is highly desirable Confident managing curriculum, staff, and resources Strong subject knowledge and understanding of vocational and academic routes Effective classroom and behaviour management skills Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication abilities Proactive, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being Why Class Act?
