Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy who offer a wide range of specialist services across Scotland. With offices in Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
They currently have a team of 20 consultants operating in their ecology team. These consultants work on a wide variety of projects, including large housing developments, local harbours, as well as private residential projects.
Your new role
1. Undertake habitat and species surveys, assessments, and mitigation for one or more species groups (preference for bats, other British mammals, great crested newts, and botanical knowledge).
2. Prepare high-quality technical reports and deliver projects on time and within budget.
3. Provide ecological advice and mitigation on-site, including acting as Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required.
4. Liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders, ensuringmitments are met.
5. Apply knowledge of current environmental legislation, policy trends, standards, and established ecological guidance.
6. Use GIS tools (QGIS, QField) for data analysis and mapping.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Minimum 4+ years of consultancy experience.
8. Relevant degree in ecology or environmental discipline ( desirable but not essential).
9. Full or Associate Member of CIEEM.
10. Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and ecological best practice.
11. Proven expertise in species and habitat survey and mitigation.
12. Experience in project management and technical report writing.
13. Current CSCS card or equivalent.
14. Full, clean UK driving licence.
15. Flexibility to work unsociable hours or travel as required.
