Job Profile The Grinding Machine Operator will operate and set up grinding machines to produce high-quality, conforming components. This hands-on role involves preparing machines, inspecting finished parts, and ensuring all products meet strict specifications. The position suits individuals with a strong background in manufacturing, high attention to detail, and confidence using inspection tools and equipment. Key Responsibilities / Duties Set up and operate grinding machines as per product specifications. Adjust and change machine settings and tooling for each job in a timely manner. Grind, deburr, and polish components to meet shape, finish, and dimensional requirements. Interpret and work from engineering drawings accurately. Monitor and adjust machine parameters as needed to ensure quality and output targets are achieved. Use inspection tools such as micrometers and verniers to check component dimensions and complete validation sheets. Perform in-process inspections to maintain consistent production quality. Run multiple machines simultaneously where applicable based on job requirements. Record production data and report any deviations or issues to supervisors promptly. Support colleagues across the department to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Follow company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area. Adhere to all health and safety policies and complete required training. Requirements / Skills Essential: 3–5 years’ experience in a similar machining or manufacturing role. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Proficient in the use of measurement equipment such as micrometers and verniers. Strong mathematical and technical skills. Familiarity with systematic problem-solving techniques. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
