An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a team supporting a 6-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, complex needs and sensory impairments.
We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, energetic, active and enjoy working with children. The role will include but is not limited to assisting with personal care or daily routine; to enable her to be out in the community having fun, help build her life skills, independence, and social skills.
You will support her with her physiotherapy, speech and language and occupational therapy program to support her to achieve her goals.
The role will involve you working with her family, case manager, therapists and teachers. You will be supporting her while at school and working alongside other support workers. Please note this is not just a caring job, part of the role will also be to participate in day-to-day housework to enable a clean and safe environment for her at all times.
This position therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer.
Being able to drive with a full clean driving license is essential as well as your own vehicle at your disposal.
Experience working with children, tracheostomy, peg and suction would be preferred but not essential, a willingness to learn new tasks and skills is as important.
This role will suit someone who is fun, active, patient with a positive attitude towards inclusion. You will need to be physically able to carry out all her activities and her therapy program. Excellent communication skills and clear speaking English are desirable.
Hours: Shifts vary from before, during and after school, evening and Weekends. Waking nights, Sleeping in shifts. Holidays and Respite. Overtime will be available.
This post will be subject to a criminal records bureau requirement check. You will also be asked to provide two references.
A comprehensive training package, including provision of mandatory training, and role specific training is offered.

Pay: £16.00-£19.00 per hour
