Quantity Surveyor - Low Rise Block Management and Area Based Regeneration
Waverley Court

Salary: £44,257 - £52,373
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

We have an exciting opportunity for Quantity Surveyors to join Area Based and Low-Rise Block Management team.

Area Based Regeneration Team

You will assist development and implementation of a mixed tenure housing service. You will support the projects delivering repairs, maintenance and energy efficiency improvements on low rise mixed tenure tenement blocks where the Council has an interest as a co-owner/landlord.

Low Rise Block Management

You will support the delivery of capital works to ensure our housing stock is sustainable for the future, including fabric improvement on housing blocks, both fully Council owned and Mixed tenure blocks and cyclical replacement of elements such as Kitchens and Bathrooms, Windows, Doors and Entry systems. You will also manage Estates improvement works and Adaptations working closely with the local Housing teams to ensure communication and engagement is a key part of all projects.

In both areas, you will be required to provide robust financial management, risk management and contract management of external consultants and contractors and undertake a holistic approach by collaborating with other Council teams to ensure wider estate improvements, demolitions and new built homes are aligned.

If you are someone who enjoys new opportunities and have strong skills demonstrating our behaviours - Respect, Integrity and Flexibility as well as extensive experience of maintaining and creating a high performing culture, driving change and service delivery, we would love to hear from you.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
