Quantity Surveyor – South
With all our recent growth at the business and success comes the need and future opportunities and positions for an Quantity Survey.
Your primary responsibilities are (but not limited to):
Provide contractual advice to the business and the project team, informing appropriate management of contractual issues and ensure the delivery team understand the contractual conditions
Day to day contract and commercial management including managing communication and notifications to timescales, payment assessment, managing and valuing change and early warnings and review of claims to and from Sanper Construction.
Cost planning, budget estimating, review and challenge contractor estimates, feedback into benchmarking and lessons learnt
Monitor actual costs against budget and prepare contract forecasts, identification of commercial risks and opportunities.
Lead on regular cost and contract audits to ensure contractor compliance with contract conditions.
Potential in the future to oversee and mentor Junior Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Assistants Graduates, Apprentices and provide on-going support in their professional development.
Review and respond to contractual matters.
Manage own portfolio of works.
Lead on all commercial matters in meetings and collaborative planning sessions.
Ensure all commercial and contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner.
Manage relationship with the supply chain and work on growing the supply chain.
Review completed designs for Commercial and Contractual compliance.
Assist other departments as and when required.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Required Skills/Qualifications
Experience of using different forms of contract (NEC and JCT preferable)
Hold, or be working towards a BSc.(H) in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
Working towards or incline to pursue membership of a relevant professional body (MCIOB, MRICS).
You will have the ability to use office software products to contribute to production / maintenance of a range of reports, documents, and spreadsheets.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Superior Construction knowledge.
The ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Good time management skills.
Hold a CSCS card
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Pay: £57,500.00-£65,000.00 per year
