Our governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding, experienced and enthusiastic teacher with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team as Assistant Headteacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed leader who is passionate about high-quality teaching and learning and ensuring that every child thrives.
You will join the Senior Leadership Team, working alongside another Assistant Headteacher, the School Business Manager and the Headteacher to help shape the strategic direction of the school.
Mickleover Primary is currently part of the new build programme, and this is a particularly exciting time in our school’s journey. As we look ahead to our new learning environment, we are evolving our school while building on the strong foundations that already exist. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading high-quality teaching and learning, championing high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and ensuring that all pupils, particularly those who are disadvantaged, are supported to flourish. We are committed to equity and to removing barriers so that every child can succeed.
We are looking for someone who will:
Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with consistently high expectations of pupils’ learning, behaviour and attitudes
Have a proven track record of excellence in KS1 and/or KS2
Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and inspire pupils, colleagues and parents
Have experience of raising standards and improving outcomes for all pupils, particularly those who are disadvantaged
Be committed to equity, inclusion and removing barriers to learning
Promote a culture of high expectations, positive behaviour and strong relationships
Work collaboratively with middle leaders, families and the wider community
Be reflective, creative and solution-focused in their approach
Bring energy, resilience and enthusiasm to the role
Be committed to continuous school improvement and rigorous self-evaluation
