Hi, I am Jenifer Dewar, Assistant Director for Family Help at Norfolk County Council. Norfolk is a Good authority with exceptional leadership. We are proud of our Social Work Teams and value all our practitioners.
This is an exciting time to join our Management Team at Norfolk following the launch of our new operating model. Family Help aligns with the ambitions outlined in the National Children's Social Care Review (2022) and the Government's response, 'Stable Homes Built on Love' (2023). It emphasizes and enhances strategies that have proven successful for our children, families, and practitioners in Norfolk. We are about to implement this approach county-wide following a successful trial period.
We are seeking a Team Manager who is a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Candidates should have experience in Child Protection, Assessments, and Court Work, possess excellent team collaboration skills, and share our vision to deliver optimal outcomes for children and families. Additionally, strong people management, recruitment, budget management, and mentoring skills are essential.
About Family Help
Family Help comprises multidisciplinary teams working collaboratively to meet children's needs, fostering a culture that values relationships, direct work, and extended family networking to achieve sustainable change. Our teams include 22 practitioners, with seven or eight social workers, alongside family support workers, specialist practitioners, assistant managers, and team managers. Cases are managed collectively by prevention and protection teams, providing targeted early interventions to improve outcomes.
