Secondary Maths Teacher - SEMH School | Wandsworth | ASAP Start
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Secondary Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Wandsworth on an ASAP start. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them re-engage with education through high-quality teaching and positive relationships.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons to secondary-aged students, many of whom require additional support to access the curriculum. The successful candidate will be confident in adapting teaching strategies, building strong relationships with pupils, and creating a safe, structured learning environment where students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3-KS4
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through supportive classroom management
* Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider pastoral team
* Track student progress and support individual learning goals
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
* Experience teaching Secondary Maths
* Previous experience working in an SEMH school is desirable
* Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
* A patient, resilient and proactive approach to teaching
