Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
We have a new opportunity at MYTT for a Clinical Specialist SLT for Voice and Community. Prospective candidates are welcome to visit or make contact to discuss further. Interviews will be held on 16th July 2025 in person at Pinderfields Hospital.
This is a career-enhancing opportunity for an experienced, suitably qualified, skilled, and dynamic SLT. The post holder is required to be an autonomous individual capable of developing effective professional relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and key MDT members.
The role involves working with patients who have communication and swallow needs due to ENT-related presentations. The post holder will have experience managing a voice caseload, including complex voice presentations, and will be ready to work at clinical specialist level for voice, providing triage, assessment, treatment, group opportunities, and pathway development on behalf of the service. Experience managing upper airway disorders would be beneficial.
Main duties of the job
* Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex voice presentations.
* Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex dysphagia presentations from community caseload.
* Service development, supporting governance, and leading with SOPs where indicated.
* Providing clinical supervision to junior colleagues to enhance skill mix and development opportunities, without line management responsibilities.
* Working closely with clinical leads for voice and community and the wider voice and community networks.
* Receiving ongoing support and supervision from the Adult SLT Team Lead and working with the Therapy Service Lead.
* Access to peer support from other band 7 colleagues across the Adult SLT service.
* Engagement with SLT leadership structures and wider AHP and Trust projects as required.
