We are excited to invitequalified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Therapiststo join our compassionate, supportive, andhigh-performingNHS Talking Therapies team. You will primarily deliver therapy to adults (18+) experiencing anxiety and depression.Please note this is a22.5 hourposition (part-time).

Since our launch in 2009, Hammersmith and Fulham Talking Therapies has grown into a well-established and successful NHS Talking Therapy service and is one of three services delivered by West London NHS Trust. Our main base is located in the heart of Hammersmith

Talking Therapies-approved treatments, with CBT as our core model alongside EMDR, DIT, IPT, and BCT. We work closely with our neighbouring services in Ealing and Hounslow, sharing training opportunities and events to support continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job

As a CBT Therapist, you'll enjoy a varied and rewarding week within a supportive, forward-thinking service. Your role will include at least one evening clinic (12:00-8:00pm, Monday to Thursday) and a minimum of two days working from the office.

Our current caseload is equivalent to 22 booked clinical contacts per week (pro rata for part time staff), ensuring a manageable workload that supports high-quality, patient-centred care.

Alongside delivering assessments and treatment, you'll have opportunities to contribute to the wider functioning of the team. We are committed to creating a environment where clinicians can develop project management, leadership and supervision skills, alongside strengthening their clinical expertise. You will bring experience in risk assessment and management, formulation, and evidence-based treatment of Talking Therapies-appropriate presentations (i.e. depression and anxiety disorders). Person Specification


Qualifications and Training

* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or counseling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and professional registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Post graduate training in another Core Profession (e.g. nursing, occupational therapy) or Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes (KSA) accreditation plus a Post graduate diploma or higher degree in CBT.
* To be accredited by the BABCP as a provisionally or fully accredited practitioner, or to be able to achieve provisional practitioner accreditation with the BABCP within six months of starting in post. This includes completing the provisional accreditation form within 3 months of completing the Level II CBT training course.
* Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
* Fully accredited with the BABCP.
* In addition to CBT qualification, qualifications in DIT, EMDR, CAT, IPT and BCT.


Experience

* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients within a Talking Therapies service.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups and presenting problems that reflect a range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
* Experience of the application of CBT in different cultural contexts.
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings including outpatient, community, and primary care settings.


Knowledge

* Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. Experience at working with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy/ at a specialist level.
* High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
* Knowledge of issues relating to primary and secondary care psychological therapies services
* Knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
* Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).


Personal Qualities

* Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
* Able to work at least one evening session,until 8.00pm
* Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and independently with confidence
* Be aware of the limitations in own competencies and seek appropriate senior advice

£58,133 to £65,261 a year per annum pro rata inclusive of 20% HCAS
