Head of Gym & Spa (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £58,000 + performance bonus
We are seeking an experienced Head of Gym & Spa to lead the operational delivery of a premium fitness and wellness offering in London. This is a maternity cover position, ideal for a strong operational leader with a passion for service excellence, people development, and high standards.
You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional day‑to‑day performance across gym and spa operations, driving consistency, quality, and commercial results while delivering an outstanding member and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage gym and spa operations with a strong focus on operational excellence
* Set, maintain, and continuously improve service standards across all sites
* Develop, coach, and inspire management and frontline teams to perform at their best
* Ensure exceptional service delivery aligned with brand, contractual, and client expectations
* Oversee compliance with SLAs, health & safety, and operational policies
* Act as a key point of contact for client management, building trusted and professional relationships
* Monitor performance through KPIs, audits, and reporting, implementing improvements where required
* Manage budgets, labour, and resources effectively to meet operational and commercial targets
About You
* Proven experience in a senior operational role within gym, spa, or health club environments
* Essential: Extensive Multi‑site management experience in residential or corporate health clubs
* Demonstrable exposure to SLAs and client‑facing contract management
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of team development and engagement
* High attention to detail with a passion for standards, quality, and consistency
* Confident, professional communicator able to work with internal and external stakeholders
* Organised, resilient, and solutions‑focused in a fast‑paced environment
