Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Hedge End
Contract: Part Time and Full Time
Start date: January 2026
The opportunity
As a valued member of the school community, you will:
* Lead engaging whole-class sessions in the teacher’s absence.
* Provide focused small-group and one-to-one support to boost pupil progress.
* Assist in planning and delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
* Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to create tailored learning strategies.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
* Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* A HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience supporting teaching and learning).
* Confidence in leading groups and managing lessons.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to supporting every child.
* Experience working with pupils with SEN (desirable but not essential).
* A passion for helping all learners reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
