An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the Adult Mental Health Social Work Teams in Huntingdon/Fenland. We have one Senior Social Worker post available. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual wanting to develop their career at a senior level and/or into the inspiring area of mental health. Having some experience in mental health would be desired, but transferable skills are also welcomed.

The Mental Health Social Work Team is part of the multidisciplinary mental health team, co-located within the wider CPFT mental health team. They provide legal expertise and a social perspective, ensuring service users receive recovery-focused, holistic support. The team values strengths-based approaches, enabling choice and fulfilling lives, while minimizing risks. There is a supportive culture where colleagues share knowledge and support each other.
Appointment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service. The council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What Will You Be Doing?
This role supports adults with severe and complex mental health issues within a multidisciplinary team. Focus areas include early intervention, prevention, independence, and community connections. Responsibilities include Adult Social Care Assessments, support planning under The Care Act 2014, safeguarding, and legal duties related to the Mental Health Act 1983, including S117 aftercare.
The team is small, supportive, and meets regularly. The main base is at the Newtown Centre, Huntingdon, with flexibility for travel and home working.
About You
We seek a proactive, creative social worker with a recognized qualification, current registration with Social Work England, and relevant experience. Willingness to travel independently is essential. For full requirements, see the Job Description and Person Specification.
