About the service:
Manchester Road is a 24hr Registered Mental Health Supported Accommodation working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health/addiction to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a 24hr staffed service to our residents aged 18 - 67.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
About the role:
Key Duties include:

To support the people using our services to achieve their life goals and improve their quality of life.
*
To work on both practical and emotional life skills towards independent living/ greater independence.
*
To assist with the safe and successful daily running of the service including housing management related tasks.
*
To work as part of a team towards agreed service/contract targets.
*
To work as part of a team to provide a service in line with the organisation’s mission and values.
*
Waythrough Services range from 24-hour residential care with nursing to floating support in peoples own homes. Some require evenings, weekends, nightshifts (waking or sleeping) and on-calls.
The people we support are central to everything we do. Each person who uses our services – residents or clients – is a unique individual and they all deserve to be treated as such. Manchester Road is a 24 hour Supporting Housing for those experiencing mental health difficulties. Often multiple and complex needs will arise, and you may need to be able to support in some of these areas also. As such, your responsibilities may vary from day to day.
About you:
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex issues
* Able to motivate, support and advocate for people using services
* Able to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team
* Able to keep good and accurate records
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload
* Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Service and people using services
* Able to participate in a 24 hour/7 day week shift rota, undertake on call duties and stay away from home at night
