Position Overview
You’ll join the USRM Product Design team, reporting to the Product Design Manager. Working closely with the USRM User Research team, product, engineering, and data science, you’ll lead the design of a new generative AI experience for claims adjusters—a product with significant potential to improve the claims process.
Responsibilities
* Own the end‑to‑end user experience for projects of moderate to high complexity, from discovery through delivery.
* Apply user‑centered and evidence‑based UX methods to create useful, intuitive, and trustworthy experiences.
* Lead discovery with research: plan studies, synthesize insights, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
* Design high‑quality multi‑step flows, wireframes, concepts, and prototypes in Figma; use Adobe Creative Cloud for asset creation when needed.
* Define success metrics, measure outcomes, and iterate based on usage data, feedback, and business goals.
* Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data science partners to scope features, validate feasibility, and ship to production.
* Champion accessibility and inclusive design; ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., WCAG).
* Apply responsible AI principles (transparency, bias mitigation, safety) and partner with data science on evaluation strategies.
* Contribute to and evolve the Liberty Mutual Design System: propose and document patterns, components, and guidelines; ensure consistent adoption across products.
* Maintain strong Figma practices (libraries, components/variants, auto layout, tokens) and help improve design delivery workflow.
* Share work early and often, give and receive constructive feedback, and help raise the bar across the team.
* Mentor designers and contribute to communities of practice.
Required Qualifications
* Strong portfolio showcasing the full UX/product design lifecycle for shipped products, with clear problem framing, process, and outcomes.
* Minimum of 3 years designing complex consumer or enterprise applications (B2B workflow experience is a plus).
* Expertise in Figma (components, variants, design tokens, prototyping); familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
* Experience with industry‑recognized design processes (e.g., Double Diamond) applied pragmatically.
* Broad experience across UX disciplines: research partnership, interaction design, service design, and visual design.
* Strong collaboration skills with product and engineering; solid understanding of front‑end constraints and design systems.
* Ability to communicate clearly, make trade‑offs, and align stakeholders around user and business value.
Desired Experience
* Experience designing AI‑driven or data‑rich workflows; familiarity with LLM capabilities, constraints, prompt design, and evaluation.
* Experience contributing to or maintaining an enterprise‑scale design system.
* Experience in regulated environments or the insurance domain.
* Degree or relevant certifications in design or related fields.
* Experience partnering with senior business stakeholders.
