About the Role
We are looking for a Bank Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Bullingdon, a Category B prison in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The institution houses around 1,110 inmates with complex mental health and physical needs.
In this role you will deliver clinical screening and structured medication reviews, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide a high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly‑pharmacy in line with expected standards.
* Deliver an integrated, safe, legal and high‑quality prison pharmacy service as part of a comprehensive healthcare package.
* Lead pharmacy technicians and wider healthcare staff to foster a positive work environment and support staff retention.
* Promote good prescribing practice and implement improved medicines management across the prison healthcare team.
* Share information on pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, legislation and general health education with patients and staff.
Qualifications
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, including pre‑registration training.
* Relevant post‑qualification experience.
* Demonstrated passion for developing pharmaceutical skills and for team development.
Although not essential, at least 1 year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Hours & Salary
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30.
Bank position with an hourly salary of £36.00.
