The Role: Senior Lighting Artist

As our Senior Lighting Artist, you’ll be working closely with our Art Director, Technical Artists, and Engineers to help craft visually stunning and technically optimized lighting across our AAA projects.


Responsibilities

* Mentor the Lighting team and promote creativity in collaboration with Art Directors.
* Design and implement high‑quality lighting setups that enhance mood, narrative and gameplay experiences.
* Optimize existing lighting content, improving memory and performance while maintaining visual quality.
* Partner with Technical Artists and Graphics Engineers on materials, shaders, shadows, anti‑aliasing, and image quality enhancements.
* Stay up to date on trends and methodologies in current and future graphics software and develop early planning of lighting related processes.
* Identify potential risks to the project and bring them to the attention of management.
* Support the Art Director, Technical Director and Lead Artist with ad‑hoc tasks and duties.


Requirements

* Experience as a Senior Lighting Artist within the games industry.
* Have at least one shipped AAA title under your belt.
* Impressive portfolio demonstrating deep understanding of lighting, mood, and visual storytelling.
* Experience with real‑time dynamic and baked lighting, grading, lens flares, vignette and other post‑FX with an eye on image quality and performance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
* Experience with industry‑standard art tools such as 3DS Max/Maya and Photoshop.
* Photography experience shooting lighting reference, HDRI/IBL as needed.
* Demonstrated leadership and passion for nurturing and developing team talent.
