About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You will oversee students, deliver pre-planned lessons, and maintain a positive learning environment. This role is ideal for those considering a future in teaching or seeking experience within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor (CS):
* Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Support students with their learning and provide guidance when needed.
* Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teaching staff.
* Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Requirements of Cover Supervisor (CS):
* Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to engage and motivate secondary school students.
* A confident and adaptable approach to classroom management.
* A passion for education and supporting young learners.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* The right to work in the UK.
* An up-to-date CV with two references from the last two years.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
