Hours: 40 h per week, Monday to Friday
Shifts: 07:00‑15:00 / 15:15‑23:15 rotational or if preferred fixed lates
Overtime available and paid at 1.5x

The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and growing manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.
Working both independently and alongside a skilled maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant, machinery, and site services. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement projects and support wider business operations when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and reliability
* Responding quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective repairs
* Maintaining and repairing a range of mechanical and electrical equipment including motors, drives, hydraulics and pneumatics
* Supporting installation, upgrades, and improvement projects across the site
* Identifying root causes of recurring issues and driving long‑term solutions
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with regulations and best practice
* Keeping accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Providing flexible support across shifts and occasionally across multiple sites
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Proven experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing or industrial environments
* Multi‑skilled background, ideally electrically biased (mechanical candidates with some electrical knowledge considered)
* Strong fault‑finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings
* Knowledge of motors, drives, and control systems
* A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
* Good IT skills and ability to maintain records
* Flexible, team‑oriented approach with the ability to work independently
* Full UK driving licence and own transport due to location (15 minutes outside of Swindon)
Desirable
* Electrical qualification beneficial (NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds, 17th or 18th Edition)
* Mechanical qualifications or strong mechanical experience
* Welding, fabrication, or machining skills
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and gearboxes
* PLC fault‑finding experience
* Knowledge of BS7671 testing and inspection
