- Wastewater Manchester (Hybrid) £350 £400 per day (Contract) A leading UK-based engineering and infrastructure consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Water Design Engineer with a strong background in wastewater and utility projects to support a growing pipeline of work across the North West.
This is a hybrid role based out of Manchester, working on critical wastewater treatment and network improvement schemes within a high-performing technical delivery team.
You will play a key role in the design and coordination of wastewater assets, supporting projects from early design through to construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities Deliver detailed design solutions across wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects Produce and review technical drawings, design calculations, and specifications Support project delivery through the full lifecycle including concept, tender, and construction stages Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers Assist with design risk management in line with CDM regulations and industry standards Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders to ensure design compliance Contribute to programme, cost, and technical delivery on utility frameworks Requirements Proven experience working as a Water or Wastewater Design Engineer Strong background in the UK utilities sector (Severn Trent, United Utilities, Anglian Water etc.
beneficial) Experience delivering designs for wastewater treatment xjlbheb works, pumping stations, pipelines or drainage schemes Strong understanding of relevant standards, safety, and environmental compliance Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar Excellent communication and collaboration skills within project teams Package £350 £400 per day Hybrid working model (Manchester base) Long-term contract opportunity with strong project continuity Opportunity to work on major AMP and wastewater infrastructure programmes
