Job Details
* Address: Phoenix House, Ipswich IP1 5NP or Halesworth Depot, Halesworth IP19 8EN, or Rougham Highways Depot, Rougham IP30 9ND
* Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part time)
* Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible working options available
* Contract: Fixed term or secondment for up to 12 months (maternity cover)
Your Role and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Senior Network Coordinator, you will co‑ordinate the day‑to‑day works and activities that occur on the local highway network. This statutory role ensures the safety of the travelling public and minimises traffic congestion.
* Monitor, inspect and process permit applications, temporary traffic regulation orders and events on Suffolk’s public highway network in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004.
* Process permit applications and apply permit conditions, ensuring parity for all activities on the highway network.
* Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders to support safe and efficient road use.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Knowledge and experience of working within a Permit Scheme.

Network Assurance manages county road occupation and delivers Suffolk County Council’s Network Management Duty in line with relevant legislation.
