Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Process Operator to play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of a large-scale industrial process plant in the Teesside area.
About the Role
As a DCS Process Operator, you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring plant operations from the control room using a Distributed Control System (DCS). Working as part of the shift operations team, you will ensure plant processes remain stable, safe and optimised to meet production targets.
You will collaborate closely with other technicians and the shift leadership team to monitor plant performance, troubleshoot process issues, and maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and control plant processes via the control room DCS system
Monitor plant parameters and adjust conditions to maintain safe and efficient production
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve process issues to maintain plant stability
Work closely with the shift team to achieve daily production targets
Maintain accurate operational logs and contribute to effective shift handovers
Support laboratory and outside technician duties as part of the shift rotation
Ensure compliance with site SHE and environmental standards at all times
What We’re Looking For:
Production or process qualification ideal (e.g. PPO or equivalent)
Experience working within chemical, petrochemical, or industrial process plants
Previous experience operating or monitoring DCS-controlled processes preferred
Strong troubleshooting ability and sound operational judgement
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple plant interfaces
Good communication skills and a strong team-focused approach
