Overview

Senior Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) role at NHS Scotland. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, delivering acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services. The neonatal service operates across three units: Princess Royal Maternity, Royal Alexandra Hospital, and the Royal Hospital for Children, with a total capacity of 94 cots (23 intensive care, 23 high dependency, 48 special care).


Responsibilities

* Provide expert clinical care for newborns with autonomous, highly complex decision-making regarding diagnosis and treatment.
* Work in close partnership with families, carers, colleagues and other stakeholders to support newborn care.
* Contribute as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, delivering advanced clinical nursing and medical practice.
* Lead and participate in education, audits, quality improvement projects, and clinical leadership activities.
* Promote values-based leadership to develop advanced nursing practice and a positive learning culture that enhances patient care.
* Advocate for and implement evidence-based approaches to service delivery, supporting continuous quality improvement at local, regional, and national levels.
* Work within established protocols and guidelines to provide collaborative and independent clinical judgement in all stages of care: assessment, investigation, diagnosis, planning, implementation, management and evaluation for babies.
* Operate within the Tier 2 staff rota and contribute to service delivery within the neonatal unit network.


Qualifications and Requirements

* Experience as an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality neonatal care.
* Strong clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to educate, audit and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
