Electrical & Mechanical Building Services Technician – Pharmaceuticals
Our client is a leading research‑based pharmaceutical organisation with extensive portfolios across Oncology, Neurology and Pain therapy areas. Working for this organisation means putting the patient first in everything we do.
As the Electrical & Mechanical Building Services Technician reporting to the Estates Engineering Manager, you will ensure the reliable and compliant operation of estate‑wide services and equipment serving all business functions across the European Knowledge Centre at Hatfield.
Responsibilities
* Maintain mechanical and electrical services throughout the business, undertaking routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment with stakeholders, causing minimal disruption.
* On call (1 in 6), attending site Saturday/Sunday and bank holidays to blow down boilers and carry out plant room checks.
* Staggered start 37.5 hours one week starting/finishing (07:30 to 16:00) and the other (09:30 to 18:00).
Qualifications
* Electrical engineering, equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391).
* Mechanical engineering (full‑term apprenticeship).
* Good verbal and written English skills.
* Educated to ONC/HNC.
* Use of computer (Windows operating system).
* Good awareness of Health and Safety.
* Multi‑skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in domestic and low temperature hot water systems (LTHW).
* Motor controls and relay logic.
* AHU’s, FCU’s and chilled water systems.
* Working knowledge of “Safe systems of work”.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
* To be flexible, as occasionally the need will arise to work outside standard office hours.
* Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
* Experience working in controlled environments.
* Water systems and water treatment.
