Role Description
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective/efficient running of flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business. You will join a MEICA team to prioritise, plan and deliver maintenance or replacement of assets enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment, with an increasingly important role as climate change presents new challenges. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation.
The role provides strong technical leadership to assure technical and design standards. It monitors quality and advises on MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across diverse geographic assets.

The Team
South East MEICA Team of mixed disciplines; report to the MEICA Team Leader; act as technical leader on MEICA activity; participate in flood incident response; provide technical mechanical support and direction to team members; liaise with business partners and lead actions on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers.
Experience/Skills Required
* Comprehensive knowledge of engineering related statutory legislation, British and European standards.
* Experience leading safety investigations and disseminating learning to improve engineering and behavioural safety.
* Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering and process improvement, technical leadership, writing and reviewing technical specifications.
* Educated to a minimum of HNC/D or degree level in an appropriate Mechanical discipline. An equivalent Level 4 qualification with I-Eng Professional registration may be considered.
* Full UK Driving Licence is essential to achieve the role.
