YOUTH MENTOR | Sessional contract

Contract: Zero-Hour / Sessional

Locations: Lincoln and surrounding areas
Pay: National Minimum Wage (based on age)
Hours: Variable – evenings, weekends, daytime

About the Role

As a Sessional Youth Mentor, you’ll play a key part in delivering our youth programmes. This includes youth clubs, one-to-one mentoring, and targeted group interventions. You’ll help create safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces where young people (aged 8–25) can grow, feel heard, and make positive choices.


What You’ll Do

* Build strong, trusting relationships with young people through consistent, face-to-face engagement

* Support the planning and delivery of youth sessions, including open-access clubs, mentoring, and small group work

* Create inclusive spaces that support wellbeing, life skills, and personal development

* Be a positive role model who champions respect, inclusion, and positive behaviour

* Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external partners

* Contribute to a safe working environment through effective safeguarding and session recording


What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who is:

Essential:

* Passionate about working with young people

* Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly

* Flexible and willing to work evenings and occasional weekends

* Reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding professional boundaries

* Eager to learn and grow through training and supervision

Desirable (but not essential):

* Experience in a paid or voluntary youth work role

* Knowledge of youth development, behaviour support or mentoring

* First Aid or Safeguarding qualifications
