An opportunity has arisen for a highly specialist clinician in burns and plastic surgery based in the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic surgery.
We are looking for a physiotherapist to provide leadership and expertise to this diverse and complex patient group.
There is a primary focus on in patient care with additional expertise required to follow patients through their recovery. This will also involve working within the managed clinical network across South and Mid Wales/ South West UK according to the tertiary service provision of Burns and Plastic Surgery
Main duties of the job
In partnership with the team leads to have the responsibility for the day to day management of the provision of physiotherapy across Burns and Plastic Surgery
Supervision of junior staff, techs and students and promote a learning environment in the team
Managing the post operative physiotherapy for a wide breadth of conditions including major trauma reconstruction, complex hand injuries and a wide range of cancer types.
Provide a forward thinking approach to develop our service and promote the role of physiotherapy in the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery as a centre of excellence

To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessments and interventions to a wide range of Burns and Plastic Surgery (B+P) conditions. In particular the following types of patients:
Major trauma othoplastic patients on the network pathway
A wide range of post operative trauma and hand injury
A wide range of elective surgical patients many of which being treated for cancer
Work with the Wales AHP lead for sarcoma to deliver specialist care to these patients through the pathway
Acute burns critical care
Acute burns care and rehabilitation
Follow up burns care
To supervise and delegate to B6, B5 and tech staff
TO support undergraduate physiotherapy students
With the team leads to play a pivotal role in leaning in the B+P team
With the teal leads to play an active role in service development and audit activity

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. HCPC registered
2. Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
3. Evidence of post graduate training
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Substantial broad range and specialist experience. Substantial experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.idence of post graduate training
5. Managerial/ Leadership Experience including supervision e.g. technical instructors.
Aptitude and abilities

6. Ability to comprehend and work within the Health Boards policies of data protection
Desirable criteria
7. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
