JOB TITLE: Visual Designer (12 Month FTC)
SALARY: £61,344 - £68,160
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: 35 Hours, Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.
What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for a passionate Visual Designer to raise the quality bar and bring our digital experiences to life for our customers. You’ll do this by owning and delivering the visual design of our Digital Cards and Wallets experiences, whilst engaging with customers through rich storytelling.
You’ll join our Experience Design team of interactions designers, researchers, content writers and strategists. Working effectively and confidently as part of agile teams to help uncover priorities, visualise outcomes, and define scope. You’ll help identify and solve real customer problems and ensure that we put human’s needs at the heart of every problem we solve.
1. Bring visual direction and support us in raising the quality of the mobile application to bring delight and joy into our experiences
2. Apply your creative thinking to solve complex problems and make them seem simple
3. Design production assets, infographics, logos and other elements
4. Create engaging digital experiences, design interfaces for web and mobile applications
5. Design and layout pages and User Interfaces, skilfully and creatively using components from a central design system to figure out the right balance of content and UI (User Interface) elements on screen.

What we’re looking for?
6. Minimum 7-10 years experience as a Visual Designer, used to driving the delivery and raising the visual design quality bar for a product.
7. Experience of prototyping software (Figma is our main tool, experience is required) as well Adobe Creative suite and Microsoft tools like, Powerpoint, Excel, Acrobat.
8. Experience in solving visual design challenges and deliver experience-led brand digital journeys
9. Understand and contribute with existing digital Design System and be an advocate of accessibility standards
And any experience of these would be great
10. Ambitions to work collaboratively with – and learn from - a full-stack design team, including Researchers, Content Designers, Service Designers and Interaction Designers.
11. Strong ability to see designs through to delivery – communicating with developers to ensure designs meet specifications and can be used by a broad range of users of all backgrounds, ages and abilities
