About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Interim Strategic Finance Manager to lead the creation of a Strategic Operational Baseline Forecast (SOBF) - a financial framework combining cost and revenue projections to determine the long-term operating model for a major UK high-speed rail service.
This role will be central to assessing the impact of future service changes on the P&L, producing forecasts through to 2050, and establishing a robust financial baseline to support strategic proposals. You will work closely with senior finance leadership, contributing to critical decision-making within a tight delivery timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of the SOBF, integrating operational, cost, and revenue data into a comprehensive financial model.
* Assess long-term financial impacts of high-speed rail services, with forecasting horizons up to 2050.
* Provide clear financial insights and scenario testing to guide strategic decisions.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations, and strategy functions.
* Ensure delivery to the January project deadline, managing priorities and timelines effectively.
Requirements
* Experience in large-scale infrastructure or transport projects is essential.
* Proven track record in strategic financial planning, forecasting, and modelling.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with fixed deadlines.
* Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and present recommendations.
* Available to start immediately.
Contract Details
* Rate: £550 - £600 per day (via umbrella)
* Location: London, 3 days per week
* Duration: 5 months
