Within the Anglian Water @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain. We work together to deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.
We are preparing for our most ambitious Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP 8, which will involve delivering a larger program than ever before. We aim to drive change, set global benchmarks, and build a better environment, providing growth and development opportunities for our workforce. What will you be doing as our new Performance Delivery Manager?
You will manage a team and oversee the development of solutions to ensure multiple projects are completed on time, to quality, water, and safety standards, in line with legislation, alliance governance, and processes. You will be responsible for projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring operational needs and conflicts are handled appropriately to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
1. Ensure CDM compliance of each scheme through the TOTEX Delivery Process, audits, checks, and peer reviews, fostering a ‘Zero-Harm’ culture.
2. Create and maintain a high-performing team culture, empowering staff from engineers to commercial personnel to think creatively and resolve issues.
3. Translate program-level strategies into tangible outcomes, ensuring team members are utilized effectively and understand their roles in success.
4. Manage the full project lifecycle from need identification, scoping, construction, handover, to warranty issues post-handover.
5. Collaborate with Commercial and Planning teams to maintain accurate cost and resource forecasts, addressing issues proactively or escalating as needed.
6. Oversee solutions proposed by teams, ensuring they are safe, commercially viable, and fit for purpose.
7. Ensure projects meet key milestones such as Project Rehearsal and Fit for Assembly.
8. Foster an open, approachable, and visible team environment that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing across the alliance and partner organizations.
A little about your skills, experience, and behaviors…
You should have recent experience in the water industry, with excellent knowledge of health & safety, drinking water standards, and CDM regulations, complemented by an IOSH qualification. Experience managing multiple projects and holding an APMP qualification is preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for challenging stakeholders professionally.
Your background in working within a commercial framework, knowledge of NEC Option C contracts, and a successful track record managing teams in performance-driven environments will enable you to work strategically, delegate effectively, and empower your team.
