MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
This role involves supporting children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported in their daily lives.
The Role
As a Mental Health Healthcare Assistant, you will:
1. Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges.
2. Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
3. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine.
4. Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans.
5. Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
