Overview
We are seeking a skilled Slab Layer to join our team, responsible for the installation and finishing of concrete slabs in various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and set up work areas for slab installation, ensuring all materials are available and ready for use.
* Lay concrete slabs according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and levelness.
* Use hand tools and power tools effectively to shape, cut, and finish concrete surfaces.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including bricklayers, carpenters, and roofers, to ensure seamless integration of work.
* Perform quality checks on completed slabs to ensure they meet industry standards.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
* Assist with other masonry tasks as required, including bricklaying and welding when necessary.
Requirements
* Proven experience in slab laying or related fields such as masonry or carpentry.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks.
* Knowledge of bricklaying techniques is advantageous.
* Familiarity with roofing practices is a plus.
* Basic welding skills would be beneficial but not essential.
* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
