Job Title: Electrical Technical Engineer – Double Day Shifts
Location: Herefordshire
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Double Shift Pattern (05:30–14:00 and 13:30–22:00), Monday to Friday
Salary: £47,000 per year plus weekly production bonus and overtime opportunities
About the Role
An experienced Electrical Technical Engineer is required to join a busy industrial production environment. This role offers the opportunity to take technical leadership responsibility within the electrical maintenance function, ensuring high standards of reliability, safety, and performance across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers during shift operations
2. Act as the technical lead during electrical breakdowns, providing advanced diagnostics and resolution
3. Oversee and coordinate the team’s workload to ensure timely maintenance and repair of faults
4. Drive best practices in electrical safety, compliance, and preventative maintenance
5. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives
6. Maintain accurate documentation and records for electrical systems, projects, and interventions
Candidate Requirements
7. Strong electrical engineering background with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance
8. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electrical engineering position
9. Proven ability to lead teams and act as a technical authority
10. Solid knowledge of:
11. Electrical fault finding (I/O, control panels, sensors)
12. 3-phase and single-phase AC/DC systems
13. PLC-based systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi desirable)
14. Quality control vision systems
15. Industrial automation and safety protocols
16. Completion of a recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
17. Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills
18. Proactive, organised, and dependable approach to both leadership and engineering tasks

Requirements
At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the UK Experience in preparing quotations and providing technical support Good written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience in the instrumentation or flow measurement industry is a plus Knowledge of process signals such as pulse, 4-20mA, Modbus, M-bus Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
