We champion individuality in our marketing solutions and workplace, promoting an inclusive environment that emphasizes personal well-being.
Role
Are you an aspiring data scientist with a strong foundation in statistical modelling, programming, and business problem-solving? Do you thrive on learning quickly, solving real-world problems, and making an impact from day one? We’re seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract who has a growth mindset and solid data science fundamentals to join our team at RAPP. You’ll support senior team members in delivering machine learning and advanced analytics solutions for global brands like Ralph Lauren, KFC, and Mercedes. This role is ideal for someone early in their career, passionate about applying skills to commercial challenges and eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll be working under the guidance of George Cushen (https://www.linkedin.com/in/cushen/), known for delivering innovative AI solutions across marketing and customer experience.
What You’ll Do
1. Support the development of predictive models and data-driven solutions addressing marketing and customer challenges.
2. Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data cleaning to prepare data for modelling.
3. Write clean, well-documented Python and SQL code to support analysis and model development.
4. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to translate insights into business recommendations.
5. Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Learn quickly and continuously—adapting to new tools, techniques, client domains, and business challenges.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Have:
* A solid foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning fundamentals—through a STEM degree, formal training, or self-study.
* Proficiency in Python and SQL, including experience with libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, or equivalents.
* Proven ability to solve real-world problems pragmatically using data.
* Clear, structured communication skills, especially in explaining complex topics simply.
* A growth mindset: curious, driven, humble, and eager to learn from others.
* Business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to critically assess the impact of your work.
Nice-to-Have:
* Experience working on live projects in a business setting—such as internships, graduate schemes, or startups.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or version control systems (Git).
* Exposure to A/B testing, forecasting, causal AI, or graph AI.
* Experience working with marketing or customer-level datasets.
Why This Role is Different
This is not your average junior role. You won’t be limited to data cleaning or dashboards—you’ll work on real projects, build models, contribute ideas, and grow under the mentorship of a highly experienced team. It’s an excellent launchpad for someone eager to accelerate their career in data science within a global creative agency.
