Team Manager - Strengthening Independence Service
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Team Manager in the Disabled Children's Team East. The team is based at Green Banks Multi-Agency Service Hub in Margate and supports disabled children up to the age of 18.
Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants who work closely with colleagues in Disabled Young People's Teams, various teams within Kent County Council, and key agencies such as Health, Education, and the voluntary sector.
You will be highly motivated, demonstrating excellent social work knowledge, skills, and values to deliver high-quality services to disabled children, their families, and carers. Experience in Children's Services, including child protection and children in care, is essential. You should have strong managerial skills to support and challenge professionals effectively, acting as a role model for good practice and championing your area of expertise. You will set performance expectations and manage and mentor a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants.
Applicants must be Social Work England registered with a Social Work degree and possess extensive post-qualification experience, including staff supervision and in-depth knowledge of legislation, policy, and practice related to Children, including detailed understanding of Children's safeguarding processes.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
This position is considered customer-facing by Kent County Council. The Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have sufficient spoken English/Welsh for effective job performance. Standards are outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
