Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Garth.
HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B Prison located in Lancashire.
The Pharmacy Technician will work mainly medicines management and wing-based medicines administration. The pharmacy team are based within the healthcare department; however, the majority of work will be wing-based.
Hours
* Monday - Friday
* 37.5 hours over 4 days
* 7.30am - 5.30pm
* Weekend work will begin in the near future, around 1/4 weekends
Salary
Annual salary ranging from £34,428 to £41,658 depending on experience.

Main duties
* Provide outstanding quality, patient-centred care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Focus on safe and secure medicines management, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard and standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non-judgemental care within professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up-to-date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)
