Role: Lecturer – Science – MATERNITY COVER
Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note– Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer to join our Science department at The Bedford College Group as Maternity Cover.
* Teaching, Learning & Student Achievement – Deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment and verification across Levels 2–5, supporting learners to achieve their full potential and succeed.
* Curriculum Planning & Innovative Delivery – Develop up‑to‑date schemes of work and engaging learning materials, contributing to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
* Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance – Monitor learner progress, provide timely feedback, meet awarding body standards and contribute to internal quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
* Learner Support, Behaviour & Enrichment – Support individual learner needs, promote positive behaviour and enhance learning through employer engagement and vocational opportunities.
* Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Maintain accurate records, contribute to team and recruitment activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD standards.
About You
* Qualifications & Scientific Expertise – Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related subject with GCSE English and maths, supported by vocational sector experience and commitment to achieving a teaching qualification.
* Teaching, Learning & Student Experience – Ability to deliver high‑quality teaching, creating engaging, inclusive learning environments that support student achievement and progression.
* Sector Knowledge & Continuous Development – Up‑to‑date knowledge of scientific developments, with a strong commitment to CPD and maintaining professional expertise.
* Communication, Organisation & Collaboration – Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, able to build effective relationships, meet deadlines and contribute to team success.
