Stock Accountant

Day Rate: £220 (Outside IR35)

We are supporting a fast-growing FMCG business in Cardiff with the appointment of a Stock Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a high-performing finance team during a period of significant growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records across multiple business units.
2. Perform reconciliations between physical and system stock, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
3. Support month-end close through preparation of stock journals, valuations, and reporting.
4. Produce detailed management reports on stock movement, consumption, and variances.
5. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to strengthen stock controls and processes.
Candidate Profile
6. Demonstrable experience in stock or inventory accounting, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution.
7. Strong technical understanding of stock valuation methods
8. Advanced Excel capability; ERP experience advantageous.
9. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
10. Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
