The Regional Talent Lead serves as a key member of Visa’s Global Talent Management and Development team and the Regional People Leadership team, driving a portfolio of talent and leadership solutions to our Regions, taking a comprehensive approach to developing our talent pipeline and preparing our Regional Leadership teams of the future.
This role will create and lead the regional talent strategy and flawlessly drive talent management processes and leadership development solutions in the region, using tools and frameworks from the Global COE. They will also have oversight for functional and professional learning solutions, ensuring they fit the strategy and are integrated as part of the Talent Management & Development roadmap. The incumbent will also serve as a strategic and trusted talent advisor to executives and people leaders in the region. In addition, this role will ensure that the Global Performance, Talent Management and Leadership Development COEs are building business-relevant processes, programs, and services that will support Visa’s overall business strategy.
The Senior Director, Regional Talent Lead will report to the VP, Global Talent Management and Development and dotted line/dual report to the Regional SVP, Regional Head of People partnering closely with Visa University, Executive Recruiting, I&D, and Talent Acquisition. This role will lead a team of talent management and learning professionals in the region. Direct reports will include talent management and leadership development support, and dotted/dual reports will include functional and operational learning resources in the region.
Essential Functions:
* Understand the business strategy and partner with People Business Partners (PBPs) to set a tailored talent strategy for the Region. This includes building role success profiles for leadership roles, conducting regular reviews of talent, working with the business to identify and develop high-potential individuals, building a needs analysis of key skills needed for various populations in the region, overseeing the delivery of leadership programs for various levels of leaders, and facilitating strategic movement of key talent across the organization.
* Conduct team assessments & diagnostics, using defined methodologies to identify critical issues and root causes, and implement appropriate solutions to improve team effectiveness and drive transformation.
* Provide SME guidance, education, and change management to ensure quality execution and consistency of processes and programs from the global Talent Management & Development and Org Design teams.
* Closely integrate into the organization and leverage employee listening insights to understand areas of challenge, and opportunities to accelerate performance in partnership with leadership teams in the region.
* Serve as thought leader and partner to leaders and PBPs on talent assessment, coaching, succession planning, career development, and nominations for high-potential development experiences.
* Lead succession planning efforts as a key driver of the Organization and Talent Planning (OTP) process, in partnership with PBPs and business leadership. Create development plans for key talent and succession candidates identified during the OTP process and be a trusted advisor on shaping roles and improving readiness, while monitoring progress.
* Facilitate strategic talent, leadership, and organizational capability conversations with regional business leadership teams and drive actionable outcomes and measurable key results.
* Identify the leadership needs of key talent pools, serve as a design consultant to our leadership development programs, and customize as needed when delivering in the region to ensure maximum impact and drive engagement from the Regional Leadership Team.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for Talent Management, Leadership, Learning, and Org Design in the region, integrating closely with Global Visa University partners, acting as the accountable leader for driving the regional needs with global COE partners.
* Bring org design principles, playbooks, tools, and guidance to PBPs and serve as a thought leader and consultant on org transformations in the region.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications:
* Progressive experience in talent management, leadership development, and/or organization development. Preferred HR business partner experience.
* Coaching certification preferred.
* Strong knowledge of and deep functional expertise in contemporary talent management practices.
* Proven ability to hold leaders accountable for developing talent, assess individuals, and provide timely feedback.
* Self-directed, process-oriented with strong business acumen and project management skills.
* Adaptable to ambiguity and change, with a pragmatic style.
* Analytical and decision-focused, capable of simplifying complex issues.
* Proven ability to lead large-scale and global change efforts, addressing resistance effectively.
* Strong relationship-building, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience navigating matrixed reporting lines.
* Fluent in English; fluency in Spanish required for LAC role.
* High intercultural sensitivity and ability to apply global concepts locally.
