Deputy Manager - Residential Care Service
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Location: Central London
40 hours per week | Monday to Friday plus every other weekend

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day management of a residential care service supporting adults, including individuals living with dementia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hands-on care professional looking to step into a key leadership role. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining compliance, driving standards, and supporting staff development.
You will play a vital role in maintaining stability across the service, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring residents receive safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
Support and deputise for the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
Oversee care assessments, admissions, and care planning
Ensure residents receive person-centred, dignified, and high-quality care
Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective safeguarding practices
Oversee safe medication management, storage, and auditing
Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
Lead, support, and develop staff through supervision, appraisal, and training
Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure safe service delivery
Support occupancy, referrals, and admissions processes
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
Manage incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns appropriately
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policy and legislation
Support budget monitoring and operational management
Promote a positive, compassionate, and values-led culture within the service
What We're Looking For
Essential
NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role
Experience working within dementia or elderly care services
Strong understanding of care standards, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements
Experience managing staff teams and supporting performance development
Experience with care planning, risk assessments, and compliance systems
Advanced Medication Administration qualification
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office and care systems)
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to work flexibly, including alternate weekends
Desirable
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Experience in service improvement and quality assurance
