Our network teams provide a vital service, helping to ensure we supply water and provide sewerage services to our customers.
What you'll do
As a Mainlaying Operative, you'll work in a two-person team to install new water mains on the distribution network, ensuring quality and customer service standards are met.
Your day-to-day will include:
1. installing water mains across road and field works
2. meeting timescales and targets to deliver our programme of works
3. working outdoors as part of a supportive team
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you'll be providing an essential service to our customers.
What you'll need
We're looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is organised, customer-focused, and a great team player.
You will have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
4. a valid driving licence
5. previous experience operating as a labourer or performing a manual handling-based role
6. a valid NOPORS digger/dumper ticket (beneficial but not essential)
7. water main installation experience (advantageous)
8. an up-to-date hygiene card (although training can be given)
9. a current Streetworks ticket (although training can be given)
10. health and safety certification (although training can be given).
