Job Description
?? Looking to step into financial services with a friendly, experienced team that’ll mentor you from day one?
This could be the perfect opportunity for an organised, confident and proactive administrator who wants more than just a basic admin role.
We’re working with a highly respected Chartered Financial Planning firm in Wokingham. They’re a small, supportive team (just six people), but they manage long-standing relationships with over 200 individual clients — offering advice on everything from pensions and retirement to inheritance planning and divorce settlements.
Now, they’re looking to bring in an entry-level Administrator (Technical PA) to support one of the firm’s senior Financial Planners.
?? What’s the role all about?
You’ll be the right-hand support to one of the firm’s Partners — a Chartered Financial Planner with over 30 years of experience. This is more than just an admin role: you’ll get involved in diary management, preparing client meeting packs, liaising with providers, keeping records compliant and accurate, and helping the business run smoothly.
You’ll be trained by a highly experienced Executive Assistant and will learn how the financial planning industry works inside and out — ideal if you’re considering a long-term career in this space.
? What you’ll be doing:
* Managing the adviser’s diary and scheduling client meetings
* Being the first point of contact for clients and service providers
* Supporting new client onboarding and preparing paperwork
* Updating client records and ensuring compliance
* Producing basic reports and meeting summaries
* Helping with ad-hoc admin and occasional marketing tasks
* Learning the ropes of financial services admin in a hands-on, team-focused way
?? What we’re looking for:
* At least 1 year’s admin experience — in any industry
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
* Great communicator — someone who enjoys dealing with people
* Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
* Willingness to learn new systems (you’ll get full support)
* Someone proactive, helpful, and happy to muck in
?? Bonus points for:
* Any exposure to financial services software (e.g. abrdn WRAP, Quilter WRAP, IRESS Xplan, Adviser Cloud, etc.)
* An interest in financial planning or working in professional services long-term
? What’s in it for you?
* £28,000 starting salary
* Friendly, flexible working culture
* Scope to work from home 1 day a week after probation
* Full training and mentoring from a senior EA and Chartered Planner
* A real career path in one of the most respected financial firms in the area
