Overview
MEH Manager – Bridgwater, UK. Full-Time, Permanent. Location: Hinkley Point C – minimum 3-4 days a week in office.
Step into a pivotal role at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious energy projects. As MEH Manager within EDF’s Joint Design Office, you’ll drive innovation and efficiency across a major nuclear build, helping shape the future of low-carbon energy. Lead a high-performing engineering team on a technically complex project with national significance.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and develop a team of MEH Leads and engineers, building capability and aligning their work with project goals from recruitment through ongoing development.
* Ensure safety and compliance as a core leadership value, enforcing EDF’s Zero Harm policy and ensuring all operations meet CDM regulations and delegated authority limits.
* Act as deputy to the Branch Manager, planning and delegating tasks to meet technical and schedule targets.
* Coordinate technical activities, stakeholder engagement, and strategic reporting; resolve complex issues, manage risks, and support integration between Civil and MEH programmes.
* Drive process improvements and contribute to strategic decision-making to support ramp-up in delivery over the next year.
Who You Are
* Strong foundation in design or construction, with a degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Leadership experience in the nuclear or other safety-critical industries, with ability to manage diverse teams under pressure.
* Collaborative, capable of building cross-functional relationships in multicultural environments; proactive problem-solving and independent work style.
* Understanding of design processes, contract management (especially NEC), and handling confidential information with discretion.
* Passionate about contributing to the UK’s energy future.
* Security Vetting eligibility: UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
